The Journeyman Tarot – A Path of Discovery Awaits You
Step onto the road, traveler. The Journeyman Tarot is not just a deck—it’s a journey. Through every card, a path unfolds before you, weaving together the wisdom of the Tarot with an immersive world rich in symbolism, lore, and guidance.
At the heart of the Journeyman Tarot lies a singular road, winding through the Major Arcana—a journey of trials, revelations, and transformation. Along the way, you will meet characters who serve as guides, mentors, and challenges, each offering lessons that mirror your own life’s path.
But the journey doesn’t end there. Within the Minor Arcana, four distinct civilizations bring their own magic and wisdom:
🔥 The People of Fire (Wands)—passionate, fearless, and driven by ambition, their fiery hair and orange skin reflect their burning spirit.
🌬 The People of Air (Swords)—mysterious and sharp-minded, with a vampiric grace and gray-toned skin, embodying intellect and truth.
🌊 The People of Water (Cups)—intuitive, emotional, and deeply connected to the unseen, shimmering with the hues of the ocean.
🌿 The People of Earth (Pentacles)—strong, grounded, and wise, their very skin entwined with foliage, embodying nature’s endurance.
Each suit is more than just an element; it is a living, breathing culture, helping you forge a deeper connection to the Tarot’s wisdom.
The Journeyman Tarot has been years in the making, first envisioned in my early twenties and brought to life through countless hours of dedication. Now, it is ready to be shared with the world.
This deck was illustrated by Anthony Matt Walton and authored by Anthony Matt Walton & Alexander J. Nightshade—a labor of love, devotion, and storytelling.
Why Back This Deck?
• A Tarot Experience Like No Other – This deck is designed for deep introspection and discovery, guiding you along a meaningful path.
• A Rich, Story-Driven World – Every card is a piece of a grander narrative, making readings more intuitive and immersive.
• Stunning, Hand-Drawn Artwork – Years in the making, every detail of this deck has been lovingly illustrated to bring the journey to life.
And this is just the beginning! After the Journeyman Tarot, we are already preparing to bring you the Tarot of Trees, a deck that will allow the ancient voices of nature to speak through the wind and branches.
Join us on this journey. Step onto the road. Embrace the wisdom that awaits.
Your journey begins now.

I wanted to take a moment to share a deeper look into how our tarot guidebook is structured and what makes it truly unique. Unlike many traditional tarot books that simply list meanings, this guide is designed to immerse you in the journey of the tarot—making learning feel natural, intuitive, and above all, exciting.
Chapter 1: The Fool’s Journey – A 22-Chapter Story
The first part of the book is a continuous story, unfolding across approximately 22 mini-chapters—one for each Major Arcana card. This isn’t just a set of individual meanings; it’s a fully structured narrative that allows the reader to experience the journey of the Fool. Each chapter naturally flows into the next, showing how the cards connect and evolve, helping the student to see the tarot in motion rather than as disconnected symbols. This section sets the stage, making it easier to recognize the flow of a reading.
Chapter 2: Major Arcana – The Deeper Meanings
The second section takes each Major Arcana card and breaks down its true essence, including:
• Its core meaning and message
• How it applies to real-life situations
• The symbolism and colors used
• How it interacts with surrounding cards
This is where the student learns how to read the Major Arcana with confidence, understanding the deeper layers behind each card.
Chapter 3: The Minor Arcana – Mindsets & Ideologies
Unlike many tarot books that define the Minor Arcana as “events” or “situations,” our guide approaches them as mindsets and ideologies. This means that every Minor Arcana card can be applied to any situation—love, career, health, personal growth—because they describe how a person feels, rather than dictating specific outcomes.
For example:
• The Eight of Swords isn’t just about obstacles; it’s about feeling trapped or unsure of how to move forward. That feeling could apply to any area of life, making it easier to see the card’s relevance in readings.
• The Ten of Cups isn’t just a happy family—it’s a state of fulfillment, which can relate to relationships, personal peace, or a deep sense of emotional satisfaction.
This flexible approach allows students to apply the Minor Arcana with greater ease, unlocking a deeper understanding of their readings.
Chapter 4: The Court Cards – Real People & Reflections of the Self
The final major section focuses on the court cards, which many readers find tricky. We take a unique approach, teaching not just their personalities, but also:
• How they indicate real people in a reading
• How they can represent different aspects of the self
• Their connection to directions and placements in spreads
By demystifying the court cards, this section helps the student connect with them more naturally, allowing for more accurate and insightful readings.
This guide isn’t just about memorizing meanings—it’s about understanding tarot as a living journey. Whether you’re new to tarot or a seasoned reader, this book will open up a whole new way of seeing the cards. We can’t wait to share it with you!
Thank you for your support, and as always, I appreciate every one of you for being part of this journey. More updates to come soon!

A Look at the Final Packaging for the Tarot Deck!
I wanted to share our vision for how the final tarot deck package will look! We’ve been in touch with a printing company to bring this to life, and here’s what we’re aiming for:
✨ The Tarot Deck – The cards will be professionally printed with a matte finish and gold gilded edges, giving them a sleek yet elegant feel. We’re downsizing them from the original A3 drawings to a more practical 88mm x 144mm, keeping the original aspect ratio intact.
📖 The Guidebook – Each deck will come with an A5 hardback book, around 100 pages, printed on premium stock for a smooth, high-quality feel.
📦 The Box – The deck and book will be housed in a black matte lift-off lid box. The name of the deck will be gold foil-blocked on the top, keeping with the luxurious feel of the gilded cards. On the underside, the design will be printed on a sticker rather than directly on the box, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
🖼 A4 Prints – Some backers have ordered A4 prints of the artwork, and these will be printed on 300 GSM card stock. If your pledge includes an A4 print, it will be placed inside your box alongside the deck and guidebook.
We’re still finalizing the details with the printer, but this is our vision for the final product. As always, I’ll keep you updated every step of the way. Thanks so much for your support—it means the world!

Here are some samples of the cards, which have been loving hand drawn over the last three years.
